The type of strength training we teach will utilize movements that mimic the recruitment patterns of everyday life; which is the first step to a healthy lifestyle. We do this by utilizing all multi-joint movements. We incorporate Olympic lifting and gymnastics into our Omaha strength training classes, as well as traditional exercises such as squats, deadlifts, overhead press, medicine balls, clean and jerk… you name it, we use it. The question often arises, though, as to how to make this regimen applicable to the novice person. Whether you are an experienced athlete or a beginner in strength training, our Omaha trainers know that while needs of the two may differ, the end goal is reached through identical physiological mechanisms. We use the same routines for both and do not change the program, instead we tweak the load and intensity for who we are catering to. So no matter what your fitness level is, we have you covered!
When starting our CrossFit class in Omaha, every new member will go through an introductory period lasting anywhere from 4-8 sessions. In these sessions, you will work 1-on-1 with one of our CrossFit coaches to make sure you comprehend and can perform all nine of our foundational movements from the CrossFit Certification Course. Once you are comfortable with or master our Foundations Course you will then join along in as many classes as you would like each month! Whatever your fitness goals are, we are your personal guides on your strength training journey in Omaha!
Hey, I’m Jordan CrossFit Coach and Co-Owner here at BMFC! I grew up a multi-sport athlete From Houston, Texas. Baseball, football, wrestling, and Skateboarding are where my roots in body movement and biomechanics started. However, I didn’t start lifting weights until I was 19. Now 29, I’ve spent the last decade learning exercise science formally from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and from right here inside the gym with firsthand experience. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2018 and have spent the last 5 years dedicating all my spare time to training and being a competitive athlete in the sport. While I enjoy the competitive aspect of CrossFit, the real joy is helping others and showing just what their body is capable of no matter if they are 16 or 60.
